Episode 19: Finding Your Child’s Strengths and Talents

So much of the conversation around neurodivergence focuses on what's hard — but every neurodivergent child has real strengths sitting alongside their struggles, even when those strengths don't show up in the usual ways. In this episode, I talk through what strengths can actually look like in neurodivergent kids: the intense focus behind a so-called "obsession," the empathy behind big emotional reactions, the problem-solving behind constant tinkering and rebuilding. We go through four simple ways to start noticing your own child's strengths, and why a child who knows an adult truly sees them carries that further than any list of challenges ever could. There's a free caregiver handout to go with this one, including a short worksheet to help you start noticing this week.
